A user has to sign up for the Community forums and the Alumni database because they are two separate databases. While there could have been a join statement to sign up for each we wanted the Alumni database as portable as possible for distribution. There are so many other great forum/bulletin board packages and we didn't see it as being very practical.
Yes, if the user name is not used by anyone else. Both databases check to make sure the user name you entered is unique to that particular database.

Advertising banners are randomly rotated on the home page of the site, on other pages on the site and are linked to your website or email address. The banners are only $5 a month billed quarterly. There is a $50 one time design fee if we need to have the banner designed for you.
